2019 Winterfest Snowshoe Run/Walk

Please join us Sun Jan 27th for this fun annual snowshoe run/walk along the ridges above beautiful Lake Chelan. Whether you plan on running or walking and enjoying the scenery, it should be a fun event for everyone. This event is part of the Lake Chelan Winterfest. So come up for the weekend and enjoy the incredible ice sculptures, live music, beach bonfire, polar bear splash, fireworks and much more!

The Race

• Discounted snowshoe rentals of $10, with convenient pick-up and drop-off right at the event.  Either select Snowshoe Rental and pay during On-Line Registration or you can request and pay at the event day-of (while supplies last). We will have Dion Snowshoes available this year!
• Course will be forest trails, but no risk of avalanches or steep slopes.
• Terrain will be varied with some moderate hill climbs and descents.
• Snowshoe running doesn't require special clothes, just wear running shoes and dress for a winter trail run.  See our FAQ for more info.
• At the finish we'll have a choice of hot soups, bread, cookies and other goodies to fuel you up.
• Easy access to bathrooms.
  
• Atmosphere will be fun, geared for everyone to have a good time.
• Dogs will be welcome to accompany you on the course, provided they are leashed. (Please see FAQ for more information.)
• If not enough snow to safely snowshoe, the event will be cancelled and you'll receive a full refund.
• Tubbs Romp to Stomp is no longer holding their events, but we'd love to have you come try our Snowshoe Run!

The course will utilize the new Divine Intervention trail and The Shoe trail.  Here's a map of the course from the USFS.

Pre-registration available on our website only, payment via Credit Card through PayPal (doesn't require PayPal account.)  Day of Event registration cash only.

Day of Run Schedule

Day-of Registration, Check-in, Start/Finish are all at the run HQ, located at the 2nd parking lot from the top.

Race HQ Location

The race HQ and Start location will be 3.5 hours East of Seattle at the Echo Ridge Trail System above Lake Chelan, located at the 2nd parking lot from the top, called the Lower Trailhead parking lot.  NOT the Snowshoe Trailhead.

Directions (coming from the West, Seattle):

• Drive to Wenatchee, go 148 mi
• Take 97Alt North to Chelan, go 34 mi
• Left onto W Woodin Ave, go 0.4 mi
• Left onto N Columbia St, go 1 block
• Left onto State Route 150, go 1.8 mi
• Right onto Boyd Rd, go 2.6 mi
• Turn left onto Boyd Rd/Cooper Mountain Rd, go 1.8mi
• Turn right onto Cooper Gulch Rd, go 2.9mi
• At the end of the main road, take a hard right up NF-8021. go 2.0mi
• Follow the plowed road to the first large parking lot on the right.

Directions (coming from the East, Spokane):

• Drive to Wenatchee, go 169 mi
• Take 97Alt North to Chelan, go 34 mi
• Left onto W Woodin Ave, go 0.4 mi
• Left onto N Columbia St, 1 block
• Left onto State Route 150, go 1.8 mi
• Right onto Boyd Rd, 2.6 go mi
• Turn left onto Boyd Rd/Cooper Mountain Rd, go 1.8mi
• Turn right onto Cooper Gulch Rd, go 2.9mi
• At the end of the main road, take a hard right up NF-8021. go 2.0mi
• Follow the plowed road to the first large parking lot on the right.
